The
Christmas Star |
I was just a little
star shining over Bethlehem that night
But by Gods love and
awesome power He made me give such light.
Shining over stable
and all within a marvellous scene unfolds
The greatest Gift
from God to man
As foretold in
Prophecies of old.
Mary looks upon the
baby Jesus and Joseph kneels nearby
Oxen gently 'low' in
stalls and Angels sing on high.
Celebrate our
Saviour's birth as He in humble manger lays,
Only straw to keep
Him warm and a Mother's loving gaze.
Shepherds came too
that night carrying a little lamb
As they were told
the glorious news in fields o'er Bethlehem's plain
They bowed their
knee in wonder and marvelled at the sight
As far above I shone
on Him
Their guide that
wondrous night.
Kings came too a
little later
With gifts
they hurried the baby to see
And though they were
of Royal blood
To Jesus they bowed
their knee.
I like to think that
although I hadn't a gift to offer the Holy One
I shone that night
with all my heart,
To welcome Gods own
Son.
