Advent Song

by
Leo Mullan

Through the stillness, through the night,
A thousand stars twinkling bright.
Heavens splendour, Heavens joy,
Welcome now this blessed boy.
Holly green and berries red
Angels once to shepherds said,
"Unto you is born a child."
God upon the World has smiled.
In that stable, bare and cold,
Frankincense and myrrh and gold
Brought from far to mark His birth,
Gods own son upon the Earth.
Holly green and berries red
Angels once to shepherds said,
"Unto you is born a child."
God upon the World has smiled.
Advent candles cast their glow,
Earth adorned with frost and snow,
Choirs raise their voices high,
Christmas music fills the sky.
Holly green and berries red
Angels once to shepherds said,
"Unto you is born a child."
God upon the World has smiled.
On this happy, Winters morn
Christ is risen, Christ is born.
Life begins, the end of night,
Through the darkness shines the light.
Holly green and berries red
Angels once to shepherds said,
"Unto you is born a child."
God upon the World has smiled.
